The Chemistry Behind
Have a curious and creative mind on your hands? In this week-long science camp, kids will combine their inner budding scientist and their artistic side to learn, explore, create and have fun! In addition to working on arts and crafts, kids will learn and experiment with different materials to learn why some materials are used more than others and why some just don’t make the cut. Kids will also learn how to make their own chalk, water colors, and other items to discover the chemistry - the how and why - behind the art.
Participants should bring a refillable water bottle. For their safety, it is important that each student wear comfortable clothing (which may get a bit dirty) and closed-toe shoes.
The camp will be held in the
Sonderegger Science Center on the Edgewood College Campus. The science center
is a K-16 building that serves science students of all ages. 1000 Edgewood

I am a biology graduate of Edgewood college. During my time there I worked in the Office of Science Outreach and developed a strong desire to share the joy of science exploration with others. I returned to the Graduate Education Program at Edgewood and now teach Science in Portage, WI. I know that there is always something to be explored and discovered!
