GEMS-Girls in Engineering, Math and Science

This camp is just for girls! There are so many exciting, hands-on activities you'll be doing – including exploring alternative energy resources, tackling design challenges, investigating forensic technology, wiring a circuit to create electricity, making your own lip balm, and so much more! Campers will also explore the significant contributions women have made in advancing the fields of engineering, math, and science. Get ready to have a blast!

An exciting, active, engaging, summer science camp for girls who will enter grades 4-6 in the fall. Participants should bring a refillable water bottle.  For their safety, it is important that each student wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes.

Location

The camp will be held in the Sonderegger Science Center on the Edgewood College Campus. The science center is a K-16 building that serves science students of all ages. 1000 Edgewood College drive, Madison, WI

Leader Bio

Shaheen Sutterwala has a Ph.D. in Microbiology but her real passion is empowering people to explore their world, learn about how things work, and fall in love with asking questions and finding answers. 

Cost

$200 This includes registration, all materials and a simple mid-morning snack.
