The Science behind Cool Science Tricks-Exploration and Revolution

Learn about gas laws, electricity, Newton’s Laws and chemistry through exploration of cool science tricks that have entertained and inspired people online.  Together we will perform amazing tricks, explore these fun creations and think about the science behind them.  In this camp students will have a terrific time testing tricks and teasing them apart.  Side effects of this camp include increased passion for inquiry and creative thinking. 


Location

The camp will be held in the Sonderegger Science Center on the Edgewood College Campus. The science center is a K-16 building that serves science students of all ages. 1000 Edgewood College drive, Madison, WI


Time and dates

June 11-15 9:00 am- 12:00 noon


Grades

Must be entering grades 4 - 6 in the 2018 school year

Leader Bio

I am a graduate of UW-Madison School of Education with Master’s work in science curriculum and science. In the past I have taught earth and life science, as well as math in the middle school.  As a teacher, I strive to support student exploration through a merger of hands-on science, data analysis, and technology tools.  As a hobby, I enjoy thinking and learning about ecology, water chemistry and physics.

$200 This includes registration, materials, and a simple mid-morning snack.
