Gene Testing and Laboratory Skills

Grade 7 thru 9
July 6 - 10
1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Come and learn how to use technical tools used in a molecular biology lab while learning about your own genetics. In this camp you will be testing your own genes to discover your bitter taste genotype as well as learning about essential lab skills and content: DNA, micropipetting, running a gel, PCR, Genetics, and restriction enzymes!

Melissa Burgos

Instructor

Melissa Burgos teaches at Middleton High School as a biology, chemistry, and biotechnology teacher. She earned her bachelors degree at Ripon College in Psychobiology with a concentration in chemistry. She also earned her Masters degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from Edgewood College as well as a bilingual education certification.
